Area of effect. A video game term for abilities that apply over a wide range, typically in a 3D circular radius. AoE abilities can be attacks, support techniques, or whatever else. AoE traits are typically highly valued for being easy to aim and potentially of great cost effectiveness, as they might affect multiple targets.
