Video game term for something that must be done on a precise frame. Frames refers to each static image that makes up the action onscreen, just like an animated cartoon or movie. Having less time to do something means you have less frames to do it and vice versa; it’s a more technically-precise description. Frame-perfect is the strictest requirement. Taken literally, it means an action must be done in a single frame, but it’s often used exaggeratedly to stress how difficult something’s timing is. Something called “frame-perfect” might actually be within two frames, depending on the communicator’s intent and context.
