Hideaki Anno directed this commercial for Animate, a major media retailer in Japan. Heavily stylized, it’s a progenitor to latter-era Gainax and Studio Trigger’s style.

Name(s): Animation Store Manager / Anime Tenchou / アニメ店長
Format: Original video animation [OVA] (1 episode)
Studio(s): Gainax

Directed by Hideaki Anno with studio Gainax, Animation Store Manager is a short commercial for the media retail chain Animate and features their hip, teenage mascot. The commercial comedically parodies shonen anime in a visual style similar to the Blazing Transfer Student OVA.
