The Girl Who Leapt Through Time is one of those movies that’s universally liked because there’s no secret to its appeal. Just your usual time travel story, but it’s very fun. Characters are likable, realistic, reasonable, and easy to understand and relate to, so the story immediately ropes in. Of course, anyone knows something is going to go wrong with the time traveling power, so this mystery as well as its origins keep us watching.
Comes close to dragging, but just barely avoids it. Simple, good lessons and theories about fate and responsibility. Everyone should see it because it’s a safe bet you’ll like it. The characters’ emotional resolution and justification makes literally no sense, but whatever.
