An action/seinen parody starring Ghost Rider, the black leather-clad spirit of vengeance who is now also a cop? I can be on board with that. Of course, this still was far from what I expected. I could’ve gone with the sarcastic review going on about how this was emotionally moving and amazing, but I won’t take the low-hanging fruit this time.
Intentionally stupid, low-budget, and terrible, Inferno Cop excuses the normal issues with these things by making its episodes extremely short so that its own stupidity never stops for a second to allow blandness to sneak in, which would be the case with most unintentionally funny bad anime.
Despite conceptually being something you’d totally expect to come from Japan, the art style is western-influenced, being reminiscent of violent pulp comic books.
There’s even greater potential for this parody through a series with a larger budget allocated in the right places (for example, never change the static character models, they were great).
Inferno Cop is funny, though usually not THAT funny, but complaints are mitigated by the fact it’s tremendously short, unique, and decent fun. Everyone might as well try it, it’s not like you’re saving yourself anything by skipping something so minor.

Don’t know how I missed these. These are 20-second long trivia on “characters” from the show, parodying modern shonen trends. The humor gone for in these is pretty basic, generally the punchline is that the factoid given about each character is extremely mundane despite the show’s over-the-top attitude. The original ONA is funnier, as these don’t have time to build on themselves or draw you into its insane tone.
