An extended commercial for Persona 5. It’s worth noting this is an original story set between the game’s second and third dungeons. And not a particularly good story, by any means. This is just the Phantom Thieves dealing with a standard gang of robbers in and outside of the Metaverse.

The animation quality is completely average. It flip-flops between sufficiently-detailed and sloppy in ways typical of the digital generation. Backgrounds are the usual blurry 3D renders. Music tracks are all reused from the game itself. The episode’s climactic battle sequence is little more than each character posing and showing off their Persona in order to make the game look stylish and appealing.

“Buy, buy, buy.” It’s shallow and not well-produced when judging it as just an anime. Still, there’s little doubt Persona 5 players will be desperate for more after playing the game, and this is better than nothing.
