There’s no link between any of these events, and the lyrics are most likely from the hamster’s perspective. I can’t see this as even a basic commentary on the relationship between pet and owner, because I don’t think hamsters are all that sentient. It’s pretty though… and it makes me miss my childhood hamsters… R.I.P. Minnie and Junior. You were good friends and deserved more.
