I find myself under pressure from writing my expansive reviews. I also talk about the GBA ‘Shaman King’ games and ‘Yu-Gi-Oh!.’

Hi, everyone. Important announcement today. I’ll be switching these blog posts to a bi-weekly schedule. Whether or not this is permanent remains to be seen. I keep coming up against demotivating factors, such as the fact I’m obligated to pen one of these every week when I’ve got reviews and articles I could be working on. Given that my audience is still small, I think it would be best if I focused my attention on building other things. The time gap would also give me more topics to discuss, which has been an issue. If you have anything to say about this change, feel free to contact me here. To make it clear, the next post will be on September 15.

Personal

The Aliens: Infestation review continues to be worked on, steadily. Frankly, I’m not too happy with this one. It’s thorough, but it’s difficult to connect all the elements of it, and it has me occasionally running into limits with my technical vocabulary, namely in regards to artistic theory. No matter what, I will publish the finished review, but that’s a potential reason I’ve been dragging my feet with it. Again, I’d like to reiterate that it is being worked on weekly, and it will come out.

I’ve also begun writing a Shaman King: Master of Spirits review. By contrast, I actually wanted to say a lot about this game and it’s been a more enjoyable experience. I can really narrow down on specific qualities of this game rather than trying to nail broad strokes like with Infestation. No promises on this one’s release either. It could come out before or after Infestation.

I’m also working my way through Master of Spirits 2. Starting to burn out a bit on the formula, as the sequel didn’t change as much as I would have hoped. The first game had a novelty charm to it that the second loses due to the over-familiarity. The biggest improvements are to the UI, but they’re still few and far between.

My girlfriend and I are going through Shining Force on the Sega Genesis. It’s one of my all-time favorite games, so I’m glad I can force her to experience it. We’re at the start of chapter 5, and she likes all the various races of characters. On my solo end, I’ve began replaying the GBA remake, because I’m a glutton for SF1, apparently. I might write something about either or both, because I think the remake was pretty well done despite some fan backlash at the time.

Other than that, just playing Master Duel and Duel Links. Ice Barrier in MD, Solfachord and wyrms in DL. The Nocturne promotion stream for MD was unbelievably embarrassing, and I had the misfortunate of watching it. Ban Maxx C. Also, the TCG banlist held back too much on Snake Eyes while hitting Yubel unnecessarily when they already hit Fiendsmith on the same list. It’s nice seeing some ED staples get killed, but it’s possible this list just makes Snake Eyes even better by weakening everything around it.

Professional

Nope.

Public

I added a footer containing my other buttons to clear up space on the home page. I imported a truckload of content to the anime directory. I swear there’s more to import every time I look. It think it was weeks ago when I said I was nearly done, which was incredibly naïve of me. But like everything else, it will get there.

Sorry for the curt post this week. I slept really poorly last night, and I’m running on fumes. After I publish this I’ll probably go back to bed and wake up later to do some more work. Even still, take care and thanks for sticking with me. That goes a million times over for my amazing girlfriend that makes every day worth living.
