Ghost Heights Management Association is a Junji Ito black comedy short story about a horror manga author who ends up running General Affairs at a hotel filled with ghouls. Much of the humor is derived from the fictional manga author’s frustrated (but grounded) resentment towards his community for taking time away from his work, and the contrast by which the monsters don’t seem to have much of an interest in anything. There’s a cheap laugh or two here, and a decent shock panel, but nothing wholly original. Ghost Heights Management Association has more in common with Scooby-Doo than with the average Ito story.
