Terry Gilliam’s dystopian fantasy world of 1985’s ‘Brazil’ imaginatively (and humorously) satirizes the nightmares of bureaucratic capitalism.

What a dense movie. Few have intimidated me so much to find something to say about them, but I will say that it’s Brazil’s unique world design and sets that blow me away the most. People love to feel as though they’ve been taken inside what they’re watching, and Brazil’s world feels so full and complete that forgetting reality becomes mandatory. Dripping with a satirical Douglas Adams-esque coyness, the conclusion strikes like a sudden bullet. Brazil haunts in many special ways.
