‘The Mist’ is incredibly dumb. The social commentary is overly contrived with its forced, quick pacing and is on-the-nose to the point of losing all actual relevance to the real world.

The Mist Review

The Mist is incredibly dumb. I can’t tell what’s bad scriptwriting and what’s just Stephen King‘s original dialogue. While an entertaining thriller (only as such thanks to its solid, time-tested premise and structure), the acting is hammy and possibly trying to make up for generic characters, the CGI is horrible and worthy of a Jimmy Neutron episode, and the social commentary is overly contrived with its forced, quick pacing and is on-the-nose to the point of losing all actual relevance to the real world.
