The criticism Tron: Legacy has gotten in comparison with the original is baffling and makes me wonder when was the last time many of these people have seen Tron. Yes, this is a very flawed movie but it’s flawed in the exact same ways the original is (narratively) and its strengths to overcome those flaws are also the exact same trait (aesthetic). This is so gorgeous and visually engrossing that it picks up the awestruck slack when the plot doesn’t. Pound-for-pound, mostly an overall improvement.
