Cut the World is modern, jangly, dreamy, twee pop reminiscent of similar-sounding ’80s indie pop bands, particularly The Wake. Seriously! If you like this, listen to Something That No One Else Could Bring, it’s practically the same thing (but better). Though derivative, Cut the World does that scene justice. Every song is good, and what it lacks in variety it makes up for in being a short listen. Don’t you wish all dream pop bands had that much sense?
The only thing preventing me from liking this more is that while I enjoyed every track, there weren’t any tracks that I immediately needed to hear again; something like “Pale Spectre” on the previously mentioned EP by The Wake. I guess what I’m saying is it’s lacking a real showstopper popper. Haha good one Noah yes
Still gonna come back to this though, could see it growing on me. Nothing original about the sound of this album but its an unusual consistently high quality for its style.
