If ‘Enter’ by Cybotron had more tracks on the level of "Clear," it would be an essential album. But…

Enter by Cybotron is kind of “eh.” I mean, you all know “Clear;” it’s a techno classic that was so ahead of its time that it existed far into the next decade. That free-running, jumping beat makes you feel weightless; uncatchable.

The rest of Enter doesn’t even sound like it’s from the same Cybotron. Dirty electro to be sure, but an exercise of form and not craft. The instrumentals sound extremely similar to Kraftwerk, and the industrial-esque guitars and vocals show a certain pop culture base of new wave and post-punk, yet without the hooks. Add Clear to your collection if you haven’t already, the rest isn’t even much of a curiosity.
