Despite the tough-looking cover, From the Inside is Alice Cooper‘s most flaccid album yet. The piano is the most dominant instrument here by far, leading to a lot of ballads that, while pleasurable and serviceable, are generic and unsatisfying. He rocks out a bit on the opening title track, but for the rest of the album he thinks he’s fucking Elton John or something
“Inmates (We’re All Crazy)” has the same vocal melody as the classic children’s nursery rhyme, “Rain Rain Go Away.”
