I admit I really misjudged this one. Further isn’t Dig Your Own Hole—but it doesn’t try to be. Further is much more reliant on frigid, glacial synthesizers than thick beats. True to the image the album cover projects, it possesses all of the forward momentum that made The Chemical Brothers’ best albums so vibrant and tireless. They could turn your body into a machine—or at least your tapping foot. Further is a seemingly endless dive into an ocean of some of the purest, most crystal-clear EDM there is. You can practically feel every vibration in the water. The duo’s second best album.
