A huge departure for Ladytron. Gravity the Seducer has an atmospheric vibe that borders on ambient pop as it softly glides by. I’m disappointed at the lack of Mira Aroyo on vocals, as she’s my preferred singer. I believe she only sings lead on one song here (“Moon Palace,” which is a highlight). There’s also some underwhelming instrumental tracks.
Some great songs here, but the style may leave some fans alienated. Try listening with an open mind and expect something a bit different from older Ladytron releases. It’s nice to see the band taking their sound in new directions, in any case.
