Happy Days is overly heavy, thick, generic grunge-y alternative rock. A gigantic step down from Chrome. A step so big that they tripped and broke their whole backbone. Maybe worse than a generic hard rock album, because those usually had at least one good single and this has nothing. Also, this album is really long. I kept listening thinking there had to be one song I thought was really good, but there wasn’t.
Happy Days made me a bit more bitter and disillusioned, and I sure as hell didn’t need that.
UPDATE: “Judy Staring at the Sun” is pretty good, honestly.
