Heavy Rocks

Futuristic traditional hard rock

Heavy Rocks sounds like the Gurren Lagann soundtrack.

Repetitive as hell and dangerously so at 46 minutes, but due to its breakneck pace and resemblance to anime I’ll allow it.

The “Korosu”/”Dyna-Soar”/”Wareruride” trio is the most hardcore set of songs to ever be called a medley. Is the riff of “Rattlesnake” just a lawnmower being revved up? I need one of those. Surprisingly ends with the two weakest songs on the album and doesn’t go out with the kind of bang it opened with.

Ball-bustingly reckless, heavy, hard rock with a bit of noise feedback, all backed up by a punk rock spirit. Heavy Rocks is possibly the best Boris album. Aren’t they just the cutest? I love their colorful album covers. You could make a Rainbow with them.
