As the trend of female-led soul-influenced indie pop goes, Neptune City and Nicole Atkins stand about at the top of everything I’ve heard. Her voice is gorgeous and there is a lot of variety in the styles of the songs. The backing instrumentation is just as lush and none of the string sections ever sound out of place. Highly recommended for fans of this sort of thing (think Florence + The Machine etc.). I have high hopes for this act in the future.
