Surprisingly, the post-Kyuss project with the most Kyuss members, Vista Chino, is one of the alumni’s weakest.

To everyone’s surprise, the post-Kyuss project with the most Kyuss members is one of the alumni’s weakest. There’s nothing wrong with the ingredients Vista Chino uses on Peace. Making a palatable stoner rock album is as simple as making an all-American cheeseburger. But Peace is just. So. Limp. It’s weak! Stoner rock needs muscle! Always! This is like they cooked that aforementioned burger, but it actually had a lot of air in it or something that made it look bigger.

I don’t fucking know. But Peace just sounds boring, and it’s enough to ruin every riff from Vista Chino. It’s a shame too, because they actually attempt some genuine psychedelia, but what that’s backing up doesn’t justify the assisted dynamics and extended song lengths. “Acidize… The Gambling Moose” is almost great. The rest… don’t bother. It’s fuzzy and dirty, but in the same way a Hoover vacuum is.
