The Tegan and Sara chill-out album. So Jealous is mandatory nighttime listening, significant for being one of the rare pop rock albums that can be enjoyed when you’re tired. Obviously, its setting is a quiet city. Don’t overlook those synthesizers far in the background, twinkling like distant streetlights. The entire sound of So Jealous blends together in beautiful harmony, with the softest, fuzziest electric guitar chords and acoustics feeling like a warm wave, rather than separate notes. The girls work together as vocalists the most on this album, being nearly indistinguishably in sync.

Some of the prettiest indie pop ever made, though it lacks some continuity as an album—it feels like a collection of songs, and the track order could have been much improved. Nonetheless, So Jealous is a high recommendation, another album from one of 2000s indie pop’s strongest contenders.
