“Beetlebum” and “Song 2” are really great songs, so what the hell happened to everything else on Blur? Sounds like they weren’t even trying with the rest and the album is just a vehicle for those singles. What if it is? What if all of it is bad, and I’m just fooling myself? What if I don’t even exist? This review might as well not. But yeah, I think this is mediocre. Also, nice grunge parody guys. You really nailed them with that, way after the movement had already died. Woah. Wow. Tough guys. And frankly, your average track by the Seattle Big 4 is much better than “Song 2.” Well, maybe not if it’s Pearl Jam.
