Uncle Meat isn’t something you put on when you want “music,” it’s more for when you’re in the mood for a movie or an event in audio format. Uncle Meat is like the recording of a fake variety show led by schizophrenics. It’s an adventure and bafflingly entertaining. Bafflingly everything. This is one of my favorite Frank Zappa albums because it’s some of the most fun I’ve ever had listening to one. Isn’t that the point? Set aside two hours on a lonely, boring night and grab something to drink, then play Uncle Meat. Trust me—it’s an adventure.
